Seems like a reasonable offer. High end prospect, first, and a meh roster player. Its probably what they’ll wind up getting this summer.

Worth noting in the most recent article from this week they asked an anonymous NHL executive not affiliated with the Canucks about it and he had this to say.

CanucksArmy. “A mid-round first could be a bust, and Chytil is an okay piece, but not great. Schneider, Chytil and a 1st is probably what’s necessary and I think adding a second-round pick is required. Miller is one of the top players in the game. It has to be a haul, and even if it is, the Canucks still may lose the trade.”

Pretty good indication of the expected value in a Miller trade.

VAN isn’t trading Miller till the TDL.. get the same value back while making a push for a playoff hope. Doing it now is bad management unless the goal is to tank for bedard

I don’t really think many consider Lundkvist as a high end prospect. He’s basically a 4RD in New York. He’s basically like the Canucks’s Rathbone, but two times worse production wise

I can’t see this a suitable Miller trade being made by either of these teams. No one seems likely to budge.

I disagree. I think the package will be better this summer and the risk of him getting injured or something during the season is too high.

We are all able to have our opinions. 4 months from now we will know if he gets moved and for how much. See who was right and wrong.

Rangers made the move for Copp after Canucks declined. I think JT to NYR is over at this point. They'll be looking for Laf and Kakko to be playing further up the lineup. I think the only way this changes is if Copp and Strome leave this offseason but I don't see the Rangers without one of them next year. Especially Copp if the first is gone and they advance to play Tampa. This trade would likely be on the table again but I just can't see the Canucks accepting. Personally, I'd rather keep JT and extend him over this deal.
