Doesn't make much sense for the Leafs. They need guys who will make an impact now, not a few years down the road. Moving their 2nd best winger and a young defenseman who's ready to become an NHL regular for a 2nd overall pick who won't be ready to make that kind of impact for 3-4 years at the earliest isn't really where the team is at.

Right but they have got much worse. Leafs are in a different window than the Devils. They can move cap space of other places. Extra cap is not going to help you win. A Nylander trade has to help them be better now. This is not close to that.
