Description

Curious what people think Burakovsky will get for a contract, does this seem close?
I think Lysell will get a real look in camp and a tryout in the NHL at least. Between Studnicka (could be traded), Merkulov, Steen, and Mcglaughlin I think Craig Smith could become expendable.

Why ditch smith? He had a down year, but it sounds like he was playing through something for the majority of the season. Meanwhile, burakovsky had kind of an outlier season. They’re probably going to be pretty similar in terms of production next year, and ones way cheaper.

Also those players you mentioned that make smith expendable….none of them really have anything to do with smith.

With less term maybe Burakovsky comes in similar? 4 x 4.9?
