The leafs aren’t going to give up a premium asset to dump Mrazek without getting something decent back in return. If no one bites for something reasonable like a 2nd to take him they can buy him out for just 1 mil a year.

Then that's going to be the case. Wings aren't taking a cap dump for less.

Well if you say the wings are out, I guess no other team is trading for Mrazek

that's literally what most people have been saying anytime someone posts an ACGM with Mrazek going anywhere. The amount of capital you'd have to attach to him to get another team to bite on him isn't worth it when you can just take a temporary hit to get rid of his deal.

Well the thing is if I’m a team like Chicago for example, I could use a decent goalie and Mrazek has a track record of being a solid starter. If it doesn’t work out then he helps hit the cap floor and you get a decent asset like a 2nd round pick. If does, then you get a solid goalie and an asset for free. I think a team bites on him as there were reports around the deadline that there was some sort of interest

Chicago's basically at the cap floor without any goalies signed for next year, so that's not as exciting to them. I could see them being one of the few teams that would actually use him, though, as they're going to need someone to play between the pipes and Mrazek isn't much worse than what Lankinen was this year.

Seeing he was waived earlier this year and not one of the 31 teams took him, why would anyone take him without a sweetner?

You have 4 options.

1. Keep him and have 3.9 million in cap hit for two year
2. Waive him and take the following cap hit over the next 4 years, 1.p million in 2022, 900k in 2023, 1.4 in 2025 and 1.4 million in 2025. You will hope the cap goes up and his hit in two years is less hurtful
3. Send him to the Marlies and eat about 2.8 in cap hit a year for two years.
4. Trade his cap and pay to do so.

Again he is bad last year. .888 save % and 3.3 GAA. MRAZEK is not a good starter and not for almost 4 million a year, only hits his value.

There are few teams that can eat that co tract and all wilk want something to do so, without giving up.much.

Absolutely no one is saying Mrazek is good or has positive value. I’m simply arguing that the leafs would be crazy to trade a 1st to dump him and other teams will accept a smaller sweetener (like a 2nd as I said)
