Description
As a fan or even hater of the Leafs i want your opinion on who would be the best fit as an available defensemen beside Morgan Rielly if you want to give me a trade example with it i would appreciate it, I’m really curious how other fanbases think of the Leafs Top 2 D & who could be the missing link for them from a neutral perspective

Yeah all 3 are great options, We shall see what Dubas does after the cup finals.

I’m excited for The Draft then the Offseason I see a Top 6 LW & A Partner for Rielly as his top priority if Soup resigns

Right, klingberg or Letang or Hronek should Yzerman move him might be some options.

I doubt Yzerman trades him at least not before he has a replacement for him. I like Lindstrom but he is a 3rd pair Dman and would struggle in the 2nd pair if he had to play there all season long. There are 2 RHDs that will go in the top 5 and one of them could end up being the best player in the draft class.

Yeah Yzerman wont deal him unless he has a replacement already lined up, Rather he signed Klingberg or god forbid Petry does come home and replace him.

I think Toronto should sign Phillips Myers to play in their top 6 when Nashville (likely) buys him out this summer

But adding to their top 6 is not what they need and won't get them out of the 1st round. Their bottom 6 is what they need to concentrate on. Their bottom 6 had 4 goals against TB and 2 of those were empty net goals.

Ok first of all Phillip Myers is a defenseman that will come in at maximum 2M, probably less. So what you said yas literally nothing to do with what I said.

As for adding forwards. Their depth is mostly fine. They need a top 6 guy with a "killer instinct" mindset

Then how does adding a defenseman to their top six help at all this is the NHL not a video game. Their top 6 is scoring isn't the problem they scored 20 goals in 7 games. In the playoffs with only 2 lines that can score consistently it makes a lot easier to defend against. TB had 8 goals from their bottom 6 and only 1 was an empty net. They need a couple of bottom 6 players that are ok with playing in the bottom 6 and have proven they can score consistently while playing bottom 6 minutes. Most of the Toronto ACGMs done by Toronto fans they are always adding to the top 6 and bringing in big names.

Now your profile says you are a TB fan as well, here on CapFriendly a lot of Tampa fans were upset with the TDL moves Tampa made. With where they are at right now those moves are looking like the best made by any team at the TDL. All they did was improve their bottom 6 and it looks like TB will be the 1st team to 3peat since the Islanders did it in 1983.

No its just you keep bringing up the top 6 to me, that has nothing to do with me thinking they should sign Phillip Myers for cheap to replace Lyubushkin.

As for their depth scoring, they had 5 goals and 15 points from their bottom 6 in 7 games. And your numbers were wrong for the top 6, they only had 14 goals, not 20. and 4 of them were on the powerplay.

As for Tampa's additions. I was very happy with them when they happened. Most tampa fans likely didnt follow Hagel the last 2 years as close as I did and same with Nick Paul because of the Canadian division last year and seeing him play a few times this year. Im not saying Toronto should just scrap their bottom 6 and I do think loosing Mikheyev will hurt them, but they are likely adding Robertson next year, and potentially Abruzzese or Knies.

I agree mainly cause the Future Considerations for the Alex Biega deal was the loan to the Marlies that gave us an extended look at Phillipe

You said:

This is what my response:

"But adding to their top 6 is not what they need and won't get them out of the 1st round. Their bottom 6 is what they need to concentrate on. Their bottom 6 had 4 goals against TB and 2 of those were empty net goals."

So realistically you brought up Myers and I ignored it and said Toronto top 6 isn't the problem. Then you mentioned it again in your response. I didn't even mention Myers until you brought him up twice.
It's not like that was that tough to follow maybe you need to read the posts more carefully.

As for the goals look at the scoring logs for the games coaches change the lines a ll the time during the games. You must have been the only TB fan that thought that way because no other TB fans were saying that when it happened at least not here.

Ok while i agree the depth needs improvements I think when scoring is needed both Robertson & Anderson can be a big help that being said i would love the leafs to get a 50% retained Connor Brown for the 3rd line. But if you want to look at me & say that 2nd Line LW wasn’t an issue in the playoffs than idk what game you were watching, I love kerfoot but he is just too small doe his role & needs an upgrade

Ok but the point I'm trying to make is that the bottom 6 should be the first priority. Upgrading the LW on the 2nd line wouldn't make that much of a difference.

In that case your first response was completely meaningless since I was never talking about their forwards in my first post. Lets just chalk this up as a misunderstanding and move on
