Description
Dallas signs Barry Trotz to be the new HC and Jim Nill works to build a roster that keeps all of the key players while finding a way to build cheap depth for the bottom 6 for the next few years until Benn comes off the books.

Oettinger and Robertson get their long-term contracts when Benn expires. Hintz gets his long-term deal next summer and Pavs signs an extension. Dallas looks to move Faksa in summer 2023, to find space on the roster for Johnston and Bourque. Depending on how quickly the young centers develop, Seguin can move to RW as soon as 2023 for one of them to slide in as the 2nd line center behind Hintz.

Winnipeg (he's from there), Vegas (they're looking to contend and Lehner has good memories with him) or Detroit (to build a solid base for their future).

Bummer. I feel like with a good coach, we have a very good team. If Bowness took this team to the Stanley Cup Final and to 7 games with Calgary, I have to wonder how competitive this team would be with an elite coach. Especially if guys like Johnston and Bourque end up being NHL-ready by the end of next season.

While I appreciate the guy was one of the better guys in the league, I think DAL needs more offensive minded guy.

Friedman suggested DAL is targeting Rick Tocchet, or potentially Marc Savard from OHL.

Yeah to be fair I dunno why exactly they'd be interested but that's what the reports say
