I don't get Turris in the trade, since he is a UFA.
This would be a great deal for Ottawa. Murray is injured too often to be relied on so his contract is a sunk cost. They get out of half of his contract for free since I assume the 2nd is for Puljujarvi.
It doesn't seem fair or realistic to Edmonton. Murray with 3.05M retained for Kassian seems more sensible. Murray has no value, even half retained. Kassian has no value as is. While the trade would be cap neutral, the Senators would save seven figures in real money salary, and get someone who will play on their 4th line instead of sitting at home hurt most of the season. They also alleviate their logjam in net. The Oilers get Murray as a long shot project in net. Which seems like a bad idea, but when you consider that Kassian's salary is a sunk cost, Murray costs them nothing to add.
Because Murray has such a high ceiling, maybe the Senators get a conditional 2nd round pick that only transfers if Murray plays 41 or more games for Edmonton. That way, the Senators don't end up with nothing if Murray returns to form. If Murray is constantly injured, as expected, the Oilers don't have to give up any assets.
