It's better than just trading away the 7th overall pick.

So, yes, we would consider it.

Especially if we can't sign Claude Giroux.

I think I'm too attached to Ridly Greig to objectively evaluate his worth. I think he's gonna be so sick.

I’d like to hear your opinion on both. Sens fans almost universally love them…

Pinto is a 2 way stud, he's more valuable right now than Greig because when he's played, he's been a notable difference maker both on D and O. His awareness is excellent and he already was a PK mainstay. Greig looks dynamic in his sample size but his play style is what people love. He's nasty, skilled, and fast. He very well could make the team out of camp and be the ideal LW for Stutzle. The kind of player you'll fall in love with in the playoffs.

I think both have ceilings of 2nd line players (40-60 point players) at best but are likely 3rd liners... Not exactly centerpiece prospects that I'd be thrilled about moving a 25 year old 85 point forward for. On another forum one Sens fan was adamant that Pinto would be the best 3rd line center in the league and because of that he should be untouchable in a Fiala trade which I found a bit comical. I get the attachment, we all do it with our beloved prospects, but taking a step back Fiala is a young star player and while Pinto and Greig may be decent prospects, they're still just prospects that I'd argue won't ever be as good as Fiala. The Sens already have Norris and Stutzle sharpied in as their top 6 centers for a very long time so there isn't room for Pinto anyways if he is to reach his ceiling. I think Pinto and the Sens 2nd is a mediocre offer that Guerin would probably take since Fiala killed his dog or something in his mind.

Fair, but I think as Sens fans overvalue their prospects, you might be doing w Fiala too. Prior to this season he was a 60 point player, and the only reason he hit 80 this year was an 8 game stretch where he scored 21 in April. Thats bonkers but also, his game log suggests he's very much a 60 point guy going forward too. His playoff also gives me cause to pause.

That isn't true, though. In the last 3 seasons, he has 179 points in 196 games. That's a 75 point pace across the past 3 seasons...

Edit: If you don't want to call him a PPG player, fine, but he has been damn close for the past 3 seasons.

eh just not sold. Seen far too many players pop off in a contract year just to underperform their next contracts. Playoffs left a bad taste in my mouth

That's fair, I get not liking a player. I will say he was fantastic during the play-in series against Vancouver in the bubble playoffs and was pretty much the only reason we were in that series. I thought he played fine for the most part against St Louis this year but seemed like he was trying to do too much and it ended up hurting him. But goals are goals, and he had none this series.

I wish I agreed. Guerin's comments about Fiala makes it sound like he killed his dog or something, I don't think he's going to ask for much. At this point I'm expecting about as much or less than what Buchnevich returned, which was robbery by the Blues.

You should see how Dorion's operated for the past 5 years of this rebuild. Stay strong brother lol
