I wouldn't, it's basically paying Nylander 10 million, because mrazek is worth nothing. So I would rather have olofsson at 5m plus pick 16 over Nylander at 10m.

I wouldn't do that Nylander trade, I would just resign Olofsson.

The money shouldn't be an issue since Mrazek is signed for 2 years and they can just bury him or buy him out. They need to get to the cap floor anyway and end up with the best player in the deal who is a proven top 6 winger with multiple 30 goal seasons (not saying Olofsson isn't proven). Mrazek could end up on the IR after a few games anyway. If I'm Buffalo and Nylander buys into what they are doing I make that trade.

It might be interesting for the Sabers to retain and flip Nylander to the Kings foe Quick and RD prospects
All great comments.
Nylander is certainly a stud and could be the Sabres best player ahead of Thompson.
There are five reasons I do not do this trade.
First, Nylander is RHRW, Buffalo has Tuch, Okposo and Quinn.
While Jack has not produced in the playoffs Jack's AHL (1.36 pt/gm) pts are nearly equal to his Juniors (1.44).
I may be pipe dreaming here, but in two years he could be out producing Willie.
Second, similar to the first, Buffalo only has Skinner if Olofsson is traded.
Skinner/Olofsson LW and Tuch/Quinn RW makes it a balanced attack.
Third, Willie is signed for only two seasons.
Just when all of the young players will reach their prime, he will be gone.
Fourth, I think we will see a healthy Olofsson next year.
After his wrist healed, over his final 34 games he had 15 goals, 13 assists, 28 pts and was +1.
IMO, his production next year will be more similar to his last 34 games.
Fifth, I think Jeramiah Crowe will continue his draft magic and get a really good player with the 16th OA.
As good as Willie is, I would prefer to keep Victor, the first round pick and not take on a cap dump.
