Interesting offersheet.

By no means is Liljegren worth 4.2M per year, and the Leafs wouldn't match. But at the same time, I think the Leafs would be upset for losing Liljegren for a second round pick, and I think the Canucks would be getting a good young D.

Reminds me of kotkaniemi. Not worth the salary, but worth the assets given up.

Why? Would Carl Fletcher offer J T Miller $8,500,000 x 8 years the supposed ask to play 3C after Sean Couturier and Kevin Hayes that would be suicide and get him fired.

That’s a nope from Philly. I know they could use an upgrade for number 1C but it would probably involving moving Coots or Hayes plus a prospect… or, well, free agency…

Fletcher doesn't really have a history of giving out reasonable contracts. Also Miller would probably play 1C or 2C with couturier being the other C and Hayes being 3C. Also the option of putting Miller back on the wing.

I think most fans would agree that Philly should be focusing on rebuilding but every indication is that they will be trying to get back into the playoffs next year and if they don't then Fletcher will be fired most likely. These are the type of situations that result in making quick fix moves that usually backfire.

I love the idea of offer sheeting Liljegren but I would be really surprised if it actually happens.
