they have 2RD better than petry rn and montembeault is terrible. no reason to pay 6mil for several years for a guy who'd be on the third pair unless he can reliably play the left side consistently for the life of his deal. the trade just makes no sense at all for the islanders, they'll just keep the two guys on expiring deals and the pick.
