No thanks from the Sabres

As much as I would love to have Tom Wilson in a Leafs jersey, he is NOT any sort of Kawhi comparable. I get the connection to the Kawhi/Demar trade here, but Washington fleeces Toronto here. Like how do the Caps manage to get Lilegren, Knies, and a 1st on top of Nylander?

Agreed that value isn’t quite there but you conveniently left out a 3.8m cap dump for 2 years of a G that might play 20 games per season. That’s the 1st. I’d got as far as to say the trade needs to add Carlson going to a Toronto and Muzzin and Robertson going to WSH. Not looking at cap so not sure it fits but value wise and making it a legit kawhi quality move

Maybe Toronto adds if they truly felt Wilson was the missing piece, but nowhere near that package.
