LA says no, even if the 2nd round pick goes the other way.

The Jets shouldn't be adding to downgrade to Cernak.

Cernak is an RFA soon, they won't be able to pay him

Downgrade in some aspects, but he's what the Jets need IMO

Byfield still hasn't done much of anything at the NHL level. Kings have a deep prospect pool IMO, wonder if they consider adding a player in his prime (Schiefele) to compete more right now while players like Kopitar, Quick & Doughty still have some game left

They very well might, but not at the cost of Byfield.

Unproved at the NHL level vs proven top line NHL center on a great contract? Not so sure they dismiss this as quickly as you think. We all tend to over value our own prospects, I think in reality this is very close.

Blake has said multiple times that Byfield is not going anywhere. It has nothing to do with value. The Kings aren't trading away the future of the team to try to win now.

The whole reason why you're so desperate to have him (comments #8 and #10) is exactly why we won't be trading him, especially for Scheifele.

Not that desperate for Byfield specifically, just looking at what the Jets could possibly be getting in return, and what teams could realistically be interested in him. I'd rather them pick up an established Dman like Carlo or Pesce than Byfield. Although, he could be an option if LAK offer him

Cup Champs or even top contending teams don't worry about upcoming UFAs or RFAs. They are in the business of winning now.

That's why they would consider moving him for a puck moving Dman like Pionk. Pionk would be a nice fit for Tampa. Lightning have a lot of heavy defenders, they can afford to move on from one at the right price which IMO could be Pionk

One thing Tampa doesn't have is 3m incapacitated....the difference between Cernak and Poink
