As a Caps fan, I'd rather have a more reliable veteran goalie than Allen.

I get that, for sure. But with Allen's salary, I think it would be a great option for this team. He won a cup, he carried the Habs 2 years ago, and he showed that he can still perform. Only reason why he had bad stats was because of the team IMO,

Yeah it's probably because of the team, at least to a certain degree. But he's also been prone to injury. A veteran G is Caps' top priority this summer, so a large portion of the budget is probably going that way.

Lowkey, I don't hate this trade as a Caps fan. You might be on to something there...

So the pens pay a middle 6 forward and a 2nd for a guy that’s never going to play again? Why would they ever do that? They have the most cap to spend out of any team right now. They don’t need to pay to get rid of Zucker, especially since he doesn’t have negative value.

So you think that the Pens have enough with 31M$ to sign Malkin, Rust, Kapanen, Rakell, Rodrigues, Letang and DeSmith ? I personnally don't..

Not interested in an old Malkin. Yes he's good. But too old, and will ask too much. We gotta sign Caufield, Guhle, Wright and company soon. I'd rather give some time of ice to our youngsters

I don’t really see it happening for 3 reasons.

    1. Malkin would probably prefer to join a team competing for the cup.

    2. Montreal most likely want to tank next season and adding Malkin will make them a bit more competitive.

    3. If Price is back Montreal doesn’t have any money to spend. They would need to do a big cleanup.

I don’t think it’s the most trustworthy source, but thank you for linking it.

I agree, I think you should wait and let your new core grow, but that move would definitely push you back towards the playoffs and his contract would end right when Wright's ELC was up. I get the logic, it's not the move I would make either though.

Exactly ! Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get him, he would also be a leader for our youngsters (especially Suzuki), but in the rebuild situation that we are, it wouldn't be the move to do.

I don’t think they want or need to resign all of those players tbh.
