Spending big on aging UFAs ain’t Francis’ style. Spending money in UfA for that matter

Last year might disagree with you. He was the highest spender.

Anyway, this is both a competitive and a PR move. Kraken after their lackluster first year is probably the least interesting team right now but adding Malkin and Letang will change that.

Last year he didn’t have a team and had sole negotiating rights. Completely different situation.

Point is it's still a viable route for him to consider. And imo the best one too.

Letang and Malkin aren't wasting their last 3 to 4 years on a team that's not going anywhere. Letang goes home to Montreal and if Nick Backstrom is done. Perhaps Malkin signs with the Caps.

If they want to go to teams that are going somewhere, Habs and Caps are not the ways to go. Habs was literally the worst team there was and Caps is like oldest team in the league and on the decline. Plus neither of them really have the money to pull this off.

Imo SEA is about just as good option for them as the examples you just put up there.

He is a bargain bin shopper unless it’s a goalie. Then he gets careless

Seattle is a bottom 5 team for the foreseeable future, At least Washington makes the playoffs. Even though they wont get out of the 1st round.

I legit forget the Kraken exist half the time and I live in Vancouver. Super disappointing year by them. I really wish they had chosen a more aggressive GM.
