We aren't trading our best defensive dman and a pretty decent defensive foward, both with term with retention, with Gaudreau Mangiapane Tkachuk and Kylington all coming of of contracts this year. Then we would need to replace Tanev and Backlund. Absolutely horrible

Flames dont consider that. Not only does it gut their center and RD depth. It puts them in a massive cap issue

Dubas year in and out has improved this team. We will with time get out. But, I do see big changes coming. Either with Muzzin, Holl and Nylander being traded. All big parts of the team.

But who knows. This team should not blow it up.

Arz would probably want to trade up the draft with a first or sceond rd pick and upgrading the 6th accordingly
Without the retention on Tanev and Backlund the Flames could do this, it sucks to give up Tanev but his offensive came back to earth this season but was still one of the best DFD in the league. Backlund has absolutely no finishing ability on a not cheap contract. Nylander is a great player and CGY can definitely find a center to take that spot.
