Description
I’m trying to look at eliminated teams and see what they may look to do this offseason. Preds fans provide feedback please. I watch an absurd amount of hockey but the fans of a team see them more.

Détails additionnels:
The Isles probably are looking to remake their team while not losing too much in the way of limited futures. This trade gives them two young players while Nashville moves on and gets a 2nd plus a young centre who could move into the lineup down the road if Ry Jo moves on.

Canucks decline. Not trading a second and third round pick for a fourth liner and a guy we could have gotten off of waivers

It looks like you put some effort into this, but as a Preds fan I'm afraid I don't like most of the moves you made here.

The only way I'd be OK with bringing Harpur back would be on an AHL contract. Even then, I don't see why NSH would do that. They have a lot of LD prospects on pro contracts heading into next season. RD depth at the minor league level is non-existent though. Any vet signings for the AHL should address that instead.

Assuming Ingram is in NSH next season, they still have Askarov and Vomacka for next season in MIL, and RFA Cooley might get re-signed. So they probably have enough minor league goalies, so I don't see the Sandström signing happening. Three years is too much term for a 25 yr old minor league goalie anyway.

A 2nd+ is too much for Nyquist. It feels like NSH is overpaying here, possibly for the salary retention which NSH wouldn't need, given how much cap space they have with this lineup.

The NYI proposal is terrible for NSH. Trenin is definitely someone they shouldn't move, and it would take more than a 2nd and an ECHLer for Trenin alone. NSH does have a bit of a surplus of LD prospects as I mentioned earlier, but Farrance probably has the highest ceiling of any of them. He wouldn't be my first choice if NSH was moving one of them, and it only makes sense to trade away any of them for an upgrade at a different position. NSH isn't getting that here.

I can't see VAN considering that offer. They have cap issues because they've signed too many middle and bottom of the roster types to overly generous contracts. This just exacerbates their problem. I only see VAN having interest in either Myers or Kunin if they can dump an even worse contract or two in the trade. They definitely don't have the prospect depth to give away draft picks like this.

That LD surplus I keep bringing up means NSH really doesn't have a spot for McNabb. I get that you opened up a spot by shipping out Borowiecki in an earlier trade, but even then McNabb's too expensive for the 3rd pair three yr extension isn't a contract NSH should take on. There's merit in the idea of the Preds taking advantage of VGK's cap situation, but McNabb wouldn't be a player of interest. A UFA forward like Pacioretty or Dadonov makes more sense if these two teams are trading.

I'd imagine Evangelista and L'Heureux would get at least a year in the AHL before making the main roster. L'Heuerux probably still needs another year of junior hockey even before that. If any of NSH's forward prospects make their NHL debut next season, Afanasyev would be the most likely. Pärssinen might have an outside shot later in the season, if he tears it up in MIL.

Still, an interesting take on the Preds. It's always fun to see how those who don't follow them closely view the team.
