i dont believe the wild will ever be a true cup contending threat until they stop pretending that middle six centers are capable in the 1C spot. They need a true 1C. They can't just simply bet that Rossi is that guy and have no other plan.

To bad its a divisional rival

Scheifele would be interesting

But then again another issue is that buyout is really gonna put a strain on them

As if we look at the C UFA marker man were there a tonne of upgrades

With the buyout penalties they'll be playing the long game.

Maybe they could cash in on Fiala and Dumba in terms of picks and prospects and sign Kadri from free agency.

Kaprizov-Kadri-Zucc could be a dangerous line.

In that sense Dubois really f*cked you over.

Not that Laine is bad, but he's no center.

seeing that he hasn't changed as a player when it comes to taking dumb penalties and being cheap when losing ig it's good that we parted with him sooner than later instead of him being another walker.
But we also had Johansen, who was then traded for another need that was solved at the time in Jones, who then only lasted as a All Star D for about 2 seasons and fell off. Glad we got what we did for him. As of rn Sillinger had a great rookie year for potential's sake, he can still get better but has already had flashes of getting to the level Dubois was at with 2 way, and he's still 18 for 3 more days smile

Yeah, I don't see how we can afford any UFA centers this year. It's going to be 3 years in the wilderness.

I like Kadri and that line would be dangerous. But somehow I just don't see it happening. Maybe Dumba for a 3rd, but he's constantly hurt and never regained his shot after the torn pec. I can't see anyone taking him on a purely futures deal. We'd have to take salary back and then we can't afford Kadri.

Me as a Stars fan definitely would take Dumba for a 2nd rounder or so.

I'm stunned. Fair warning though, Suter can't stand him... So that's going to be a locker room nightmare. Haha.

At 13, I'd be looking for a center, ideally right handed. I'd love Belluz if he falls that far or an Owen Beck.

I'd really like to trade with a top 10 team but I didn't see anyone who would go for it. Russo said the Devils were interested, but might not now that they have #2.

A middle-6 center would be an improvement over the 4th line C/RWs they used this year.

Beck should be available with their own pick? Marco Kasper would be a solid pick at #13.

Suter seems to be a locker room problem. Did you catch the comments from Arnott about him?

Also, I'm gonna be rooting for the Wild during the Capocalypse. It'll be interesting to see how Guerin navigates this and keeps the team competitive.

A high 1st seem to be the price for Fiala lately, but if Minnesota can't get it, would they consider trading him to MTL for Dvorak + Calgary's 2022 1st?

No real interest in Dvorak. His cap hit is too much to work well with MN.

If he's the player he was to end the season in MTL he's interesting. If he's the player he was the rest of the season in MTL he's not interesting. With the huge amount of dead cap that isn't a gamble I'd take.

"Seems to be" is a massive understatement smile Suter is a locker room problem. He's got an elitist streak a mile wide and when here he had the owner on speed dial of the didn't like something. He starts random beefs with the young guys and has no patience for anyone. Every Wild player talked about how much looser and happier the locker room was this year.

And yes it looks like Arnott is talking about the Suter we Wild fans know smile thanks for the heads up!

If they had traded for him before the draft last year then they could have worked the future cap much differently. When Eichel was traded the cap was unworkable for MN.
