EK 65 was actually really good this season before his injury. Any trade (with retention especially) would take back a solid young player. Like a Bernard Docker, Formenton and a pick package of sorts

If SJS retains 3.5mil on EK65 and trade him as a 8mil x 5yr 31y/o D man, his value is much much higher than that return

If you added Bernard Docker I'd do it in a heartbeat.

The Sharks probably consider it if we aren't retaining salary, but no chance with retention. You're getting an (admittedly fragile) top pairing defenseman for $8m/yr in exchange for 2 cap dumps and an overpaid center man. Any Sharks GM that takes that deal (with retention) gets fired the next day.

You would have to give up that first just to get rid of him if you think you would get anything let alone CONNOR HELLYBUYCK that is just ridiculous.
