A crazy price to pay to move up two spots in the draft for Buffalo. Unless you’re retaining half of Murray‘s ridiculous contract I don’t see why Buffalo should think about it.

Boucher and Jarventie are top prospect. Boucher 10th OA in 2021.
Jarventie need at least another year in AHL. Then he would be a really good middle 6 player.

For Laine, the package would start with 7OA and Brannstrom.

Considering Laine would come with an extension (why wouldn’t he), the price may very well go up. Possibly Pinto thrown in.

CBJ could add, probably Bemstrom, Nyquist (retained). There would likely be a lot of moving parts. Maybe a swap for 12OA.

I don't know if it was amended, but now it says vegas pick 16. So all it costs us is taking a bad contract to move up 9 very meaningful spots. I saw 5 mock drafts this morning that each had the Sabres taking a different left shot d at number 16. Obviously that's ridiculous if you take half a second to look at our roster, but maybe this draft is just loaded with mid first rank lefty d. I want no part of this, so moving up to grab a center or right d sounds beautiful. I would grab another vet goalie that can be trusted more than Murray, then figure out whether Murray is a backup, or if we have to bury him.

Lol did you really say Boucher is a top prospect? If you truly believe that then there’s much more wrong than this trade proposal. Literally 0 other teams take him in the top 20-25 at least. 14 points in 24 OHL games and only 3 points in 17 NCAA games is not a top 10 pick. Just because Ottawa massively screwed up that pick that early doesn’t mean he’s a top prospect. Jarventie is okay, maybe a 2nd liner if he fully develops. I don’t see it, probably is more of a 3rd liner. Still, that’s not close to Timo.

Boucher is a 2nd round talent that Ottawa decided to pick 25 spots early instead of Sillinger or Coronato lmao. That doesn’t make him a fantastic prospect.

I totally agree with you, but in the sens prospect pool he is a top prospect. I'm still wondering why they take him at 10th OA.
Give me other prospect you could look at ? Sokolov? Crookshank?
Sanderson is untouchable. Maybe JBD or Thompson ?

This is a close call IMO.
To begin I am not sure if I want to give up on Weissbach, but considering how many possible 2nd line NHL forwards the Sabres have in the pipeline, he is most likely a casualty.
Depending on which draft value chart one uses the difference between 9th and 16th could be as much as a late first round pick or as little as a late second.
I tend to trust the draft value chart that indicates the difference is a late first.
Regardless, considering how well Jeramiah Crowe has drafted the past two years, having two picks among the top 9 (instead of the top 16) even in what is considered a soft draft gets me excited.

Finally, this could be a HUGE win if Mike Bales can recover Murray's career and Matt returned to his glory years when he helped the Penguins win back to back cups.

Yeah but 7th OA pick + Brannstrom + White has to be CLOSE no? And if Murray can stay healthy, gives them a capable goalie. Not likely to happen though as he has been injury prone for years.

Pinto would not be "thrown in" in any trade lol

He would be the centerpiece and since there's already a 7th overall pick here, then forget it.

          7th OA pick
Erik Brannstrom (was still a top prospect last year, now he is a developing 22 y/o D-man who has quietly produced 27 points in 83 games the last 2 seasons)
Roby Jarventie (early 2nd round pick in 2020, has done nothing to lower his stock, maybe even rose it a bit)
Colin White (overpaid but solid 3rd line forward)
          3rd round pick

What kind of top prospect are you talking about because that's already a lot of value

Wild fans have been asking for that 7th OA pick and Jarventie for Kevin Fiala

Sens would be stupid to do that... A 7th OA pick to "clear 6.25 millions in cap space" when they don't even need space?

Kevin Fiala also doesn’t have a contract and the sharks don’t need either of those players. Small LD who was a top prospect 3 years ago isn’t interesting and Jarventie isn’t really needed. Sharks need RD and C prospects.

I see. But Meier will also become expensive in the near future...

Brannstrom is 22 y/o, he was not a "top prospect 3 years ago". For example, Button ranked him 19th best prospect in the league last year :

But ok if you don't need him. He can play RD though, and even prefers that side but Ottawa don't want him to play that side for technical reasons.

We could change him to Lassi Thomson or JBD as we probably won't be able to fit them both in the future

For Centers, Sens just finished restocking their Center line. Stutzle (20), Norris (22), Pinto (21) and Kastelic (23) are expected to be the Centers going forward. Colin White (25) who is a pretty decent 3rd line forward (overpaid though) might be out of a C job as a result. There's Ridly Greig who might be LW or C (still unclear, he's 19) but there's very FEW players the Sens would give both Greig and a 7th OA pick for, most are just not available.

Replace Jarventie by ostapchuk who is a Center and in the middle of a huge breakout. Still 18 years old, 23 pts in 11 playoffs games.

That gives you a lottery pick, a 3rd line center, a top RD prospect, a (possible?) top C prospect and a 3rd round pick. That is quite the package, not sure all Sens fans would like it.

          7th OA pick
          Lassi Thomson
          Zack Ostapchuk
          Colin White
          3rd round pick
