Description
This is definitely a playoff team. How realistic are the moves, though? I could see Philly trading Prov for two good young, cheap pieces with tons of upside. I've seen the Schmidt trade several times on here, don't love the left shot/right D. Would Hague sign for more? Would Trocheck? Fabbri would likely slot into the 3rd line center/wing once healthy, possibly sending Berggren down or another player traded. Walman/Staal are injury insurance and/or Edvinsson getting sent down insurance.

My rationale is that Dad comes w/ a 2nd for the cap dump and Hague would probably get a low first, so Detroit is kicking in the 4th. (should it be higher comp?)

We'd be very lucky to lure the 2 biggest FAs on the market like that. I don't see it happening, unfortunately.

Also, Hague likely won't be traded IMO. If he were, we would owe VGK something decent in return.

We can dream though, right? I looked at the Vegas trade as the Wings trading the pick and the cap dump for Hague. Still low you think?

Big pass on trades # 3 & 4

Why? Not enough value for Provorov? And why no on Schmidt?

We certainly can dream.

Hague is good, and he's young. He's certainly worth more than a cap dump. I'm not quite the trade value here would be tbh.

To much for provorov. That's allot of assests to surrender. Let's see how free agency goes. Need to see Zadina with a new coach and a good center. Hronek had a bit of a down year but he alone is worth provorov. We need to keep our high picks unless it's a clear win for Detroit. To much for Schmidt, he has a near 6 million cap hit for several years, to much commitment for a rebuilding team at this point. I think a 4 th at the most but I'm not crazy about 3 more years at 6 mil.

I feel like the scale is off on Dadonov. 1 year of 5M cap hit costs the Knights a 2nd to get rid of, or in this case, trading Nic Hague to get rid of. Yet, 1 year of 3M cap hit, returns the Wings a 3rd? Just feels like it's a massive swing for 2m.

If I'm Vegas, I just retain the 2M on Dadonov myself, get the asset, and trade Alex Martinez, and based on the current cap friendly numbers, leaves you with about 7.5M to re-sign Nic Hague, Brett Howden, Roy, who all shouldn't cost much anyway, and then sign a d-man.

I see this kind of Dadonov trade (get value from VGK for taking Dadonov, retain some salary, then flip him to NSH for a draft pick) a lot on CF - not just with DET, but other teams too. What I don't get is why the Preds would bother involving a middle man. NSH has enough cap space for next season that they'd have no problem taking Dadonov's full cap hit for a year. Why wouldn't they just deal with VGK directly, instead of gifting DET a pick for retention they don't need?

If I'm reading CF correctly, Vegas is already over the cap next year w/ 18 players on the roster? That leaves no room for retention or much of anything except cap hell. You might be right on the values though, I was thinking what is Dadonov at $3M worth? He's still relatively productive and Nashville would need to replace some goals for Forsberg leaving since I signed him away--a 3rd for a cheap 20+ goal scorer seemed legit, no?

You're not getting Forsberg at only 8 mil per year. He wants more.
