Borgen is not worth that, Buffalo wants a veteran defenseman to add to this team anyway. Minnesota fans will tell you that that’s not nearly enough for Fiala. Of course they probably want all three first round picks in return for him.

I do wonder what Wild will do it they in fact exit playoffs in 1st round. With all that dead cap looming, they have to retool. While keeping Fiala is pretty much what they want, but they have to look at Zucarello, Dumba and Talbot to go out.

But that's too little for them to trade Fiala.

Jersey reportedly wants a top line winger, are eyeing up fiala and are open to moving their 1st. I guess the idea of hirschier and fiala together is taking shape there. Plus thier gm and bill Guerin are buddies. Plus it would overall - solve both of those teams current and impending issues overall.

I would think moving the number two overall pick for Fiala would be too much, unless New Jersey is getting more than that. I would think they could use that as an opportunity to get a younger player as well to replace some of the more expensive guys they have to trade away.

Fiala isn't worth 2nd overall, not when he is about to get paid.

I always look at trades and think it’s all about filling needs. If it doesn’t fit both teams needs it’s probably a bad trade. Like trading a starting goalie to someone that has markstrom or husso wouldn’t make sense. In this case I think if the devils want to make the playoffs next year and be more competitive it would make sense. Same with La needing a top line wing, things would make sense there too as a possible fiala destination.

Looking here I could see like fiala and the mn 1st for zacha and the njd 1st. Something like that fits both teams needs and doesn’t cripple either teams futures.

Fiala isn't worth 2oa.

If it was 5-7oa (I think it's a weak draft class for these number picks) it would have been a conversation for Fiala. There could be a conversation to be had about Holtz (if NJD takes Slaf). Realistically I think Fiala to NJD is dead until the end of day1 of the draft.
