The point of getting rid of Burns (despite him still playing well) would be to clear cap. The Sharks take on two much worse players in Poolman and Myers here who collectively cost more. Hoglander is good but not enticing enough.

Myers and Poolman aren't inferior to Burns by that much. Hoglander makes this favorable to San Jose easily

Can't agree. Holistically, Myers and Poolman aren't that bad but are overpaid for what they do (Myers especially). Aside from that, the Sharks just want no part of them unfortunately. Don't think Hoglander makes up for how much the Sharks don't want to deal with them.

Neither of them are overpaid by that much, Burns belongs in that category as well

Right but that's kind of my point. This is, at best, a lateral move which would make moving Burns in the first place pointless.
