That’s an awful lot for Girard, no?

    I don't care anymore,

has he been bad? was borderline elite last year.

Would NYR consider Lafreniere for Chychrun 50% retained?

If not, i think Chychrun price would be the same as Eichel : top prospect, good young player, 1st round pick.

No, I’m actually a fan of Girard’s, he’s always been a solid Dman but it just seems like a little much for him. I think that package would definitely be enticing for Arizona though. I’m not sure what Colorado’s future plans are but I’d assume you could get Girard for a lot less based on the fact that Byram will inevitably pass Girard up on the depth chart, I don’t think any team is gonna continue paying a 3rd pair Dman 5 million a year.

That's just about too much for Chychrun, definitely too much for Girard. I had an offer of Chytil, Lundkvist, Kravtsov, Nemeth and a 1st or 2nd for Chychrun. That feels right to me.

Lafreniere is not going for anything short of a C of his potential. So the answer is no but we can still offer a significant package.

I value Girard's offensive ability more but Chychrun is more well-rounded as a defender. I'd still offer it for either.

We'd have Lindgren, Fox, Miller, Schneider, Girard/Chychrun, Trouba as the top 6 which is insane.

I'm all for it. I'm at that point with this team that something has to change. Adding a defenseman like them would really solidify the team.

Arizona accepts, but not sure Colorado does. Value wise it’s on par but I just can’t see them trading a key piece of their core for the sake of shaking it up. Besides, he’s on an extremely team friendly deal, and nobody knows what Byrams future holds.

The thing that has to change is forwards need to back check...not sure this is a lazy thing or a systemic thing- but changing personnel (even upgrading) doesn't change what I see: that against the NYR it's easy to pick up speed through the neutral zone and generate tons of offense off the rush....and dammit, there is always someone in front of the net- unchecked- ready for a pass, deflection, or rebound!

This PITT series has been difficult to watch- but it has exposed the warts this team has. To his credit, Drury did attempt to address at TDL- but injuries have negated the improvements. Whether it's Wed night or whenever...when this season does come to an end they really do need to recognize the progress they've made this year- but also need to honestly assess where they fall woefully short...and whether it's style of play, deployment, or personnel- they need to address going forward. But hasty moves -like parting with several of an organization's top 10 chips for 1 player (albeit allegedly a stud)- are high risk moves which can result in sustained mediocrity.

The pieces here, half of which are of little to no value to COL, dont help them compete for a cup next year in the final mackinnon contract year.
hard pass on Jones, Kravtsov, Chytil - no need or value to COL.

The 1st and Lundkvist are pieces of value, but again, not enough for Girard and dont help COL in a cup run next year

Zibanejad and Kreider couldn't be less disciplined defensively this series. Crosby has made them look like babies.

I understand. Avs can have Toews for scraps but a real offer is worth nothing unless it's a complete fleece for the Avalanche that help them win a cup next year. Got it.
