Détails additionnels:
So where does that leave us?

Well ...

The Sharks need cap space and to shore up other needs aside from the right side of their defence.

The Stars need a good quality, high scoring RD to replace John Klingberg.

If he were to be traded to Dallas, Burns would be taxed a lot less by the government and be a lot closer to his ranch in Rural Texas.

It's why I think Dallas would be on his list of 3 teams.

Could a trade between San Jose and Dallas over Burns work out?

If yes, what would you change about the trade I have posted here?

What are some pieces in the Dallas Stars organization that would interest you?

Let me know your thoughts.

What teams do you think he would accept a trade to? And what would it cost to get him half retained from the Sharks?

1. My posts in the forums have Dallas, Tampa and Toronto as the 3 teams on his list.

2. At a minimum, half-retention on Burns until 2025 probably costs a second round pick.

Would imagine Dallas would be on his list, Would be cool to reunite him with Pavelski. Close to the ranch. Will miss him in teal tho

It will be a tough trade for SJ to pull off. Burn, as mentioned, essentially gets to dictate where he goes.

He's still a very good player, but the term is killer. The market for him will be small, given his age/contract and his MNTC.

I think it likely has to be a hockey trade for a player of similar age/term/salary.

Dallas for his ranch, but why Tampa and Toronto? I wouldn’t be that surprised if he considered waiving for Carolina, especially if he likes southern cooking.

1. Tampa is the reigning back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion.

Along with Dallas, Tampa is tied for first for having the lowest taxes.

2. Toronto is where Burns is from.

He grew up there, played his minor hockey there and has family there.

Dallas might be the only team that has cap and is on his trade list. But Dallas ain't going pay much for him. Just taking his contract should be fair enough for San Jose.
