Sens need what Zub brings WAY more than they need what Barrie brings. Only way it makes sense for them to move Zub is if they're able to get a better version of Zub.

I'd be very careful with a long-term deal with Kane. He's been a very good fit, but he's also worn out his welcome in three cities.

I'd be happy with what they got and will continue to get from him this year. It's been an incredible value deal. However for 6m that would scare me if I'm the Oilers

I love how Kane has fit in, anything more than 3 years is a concern to me. DeAngelo, like Kane, is a ticking time inn… it’s only a matter of time before they go off.

One new variable is that Kane is a single father and this could have a massive positive impact on how he conducts himself. Only time will tell…

It’s been well-established that Sens fans want nothing to do with Barrie, even when a 2nd round draft pick is added, which is completely ridiculous. Barrie’s value would start with a 2nd round pick and his destination will be likely somewhere in the West.

To be fair what sens fans want isn’t relevant. It’d be what management wants(not saying they want it either)

Not to mention he's 31 this summer, and power forwards are not known for their longevity.

Players like Kane are hard to find, so I can understand the appetite to keep him.

I would just be hesitant to give term to a player that's had issues in three previous markets. Good player, but eventually wears out his welcome, it appears

Absolutely agree, and I think Ken Holland does too.

Whether he wears out his welcome or not, term is never a good idea for a 31 year old power forward. There are countless examples of this: Lucic, Okposo, Eriksson, Backes, Ladd, etc. That player-type just doesn't age well.

That is true.

I'm really curious to see what Kane ends up signing for, whether in Edmonton or elsewhere. I think he'll get a nice deal
