Josh Anderson was worth Max Domi who came off a 72 points & 44 points seasons playing at C and a 3rd RD pick. Anderson came off a 1 goal season and got a 7 years 5.5M contract. A LOT of team were after him, he was worth a lot and he brings more than points, that’s why he was able to came out with that contract after a 1 goal season.

Sorry I disagree. A 28 year old with 5.5m X 6 who is a 40 points scorer isn't worth a first rounder. Though I like the way Anderson plays especially against the Leafs, 5.5m is a lot in the the cap strapped NHL.
He probably doesn't have any upside , so gotta think teams can find better players for 5.5m

So, Anderson was traded for Domi....and then Domi was traded for essentially a 3rd round pick....Then because dumb teams make bad signings and Habs signed him to $5.5m per does not make it a good contract and add value. His BEST season was 47pts. He hasn't even been a .5ppg player since.

If you think that is worth a 1st, I'll trade you Andreas Johnsson for a 2nd and I'll be happy. I don't think AJ is worth more than a 3rd, but I'm also not the one taking the side of a player with bad stats, a bad contract, coming off a bad year is worth a mid 1st...

And being the 2nd best scorer on a team doesn't mean anything when having 17 puts you in 2nd place.

His time with MTL, he’s been scoring goal which we lack off and big power forward. I think if he would become available, the price tag attached to him would be higher than Toffoli and Lehkonen. Player with good ppg are cap dump while other guys like Ben Chiarot who have horrid advance stats are getting traded for 1st RD pick +. So it seems you don’t watch hockey and rely on players value with points, I won’t discuss any further with you. GMs go watch players, they don’t only look at goals & assists

Tell me do you really think a guy 28yr old guy with 60 points not in the last season not in the last 2 seasons but total in the last 3 seasons is worth a 1st rd pick period? Throw in his contract and injury history and it isn’t even remotely close.
