Yeah this Fiala trade is just simply not it chief. I mean I feel one of their young cheap forwards has to be included aswell as the first at least. Henrique is a little old and the cap hit despite the retention is still not incredible for a guy who despite a solid year was on waivers a year ago. Not the worst Fiala trade (I have seen, this is still bad) but I feel better have to be out there from the Ottawa's and buffalo's of the league. Also gets him out of the conference so that's nice.

Not a bad idea if this was presented to Fitzgerald. But, what is the of Gibson alone?

A 50-60 pt player who can play wing or center, good on defense and face-offs for under $3 million sounds exactly what MIN needs.

What is the ____ of Gibson alone?

The price?
The cap hit?
The purpose?
The essence?

Not sure why either team does the Scheifele trade. Zegras-McTavish will be the 1-2C combo in the future and the Ducks don't need Scheifele and he's too old to fit the timeline anyway. Moving down spots in the draft is also something Verbeek won't do except if it's a gross overpay that makes sense for the team. But there isn't enough value coming back for the Jets either. The probably want more quality assets.

I'd immediately do the Fiala trade but it would take more than that.

My guess is he meant value. And tbh at this point I have no idea what his value is. Verbeek probably does this without the WPG 1st going to NJD.

He might do it with the 1st going to NJD, who knows what the Goalie market will look like this summer.

Blackwood, Smith and a pair of 2nds?
Blackwood, Smith and a future protected 1st?

Dunno. Goalies are tough to value in trades.

The Winnipeg pick kind of threw things off on this one.

But something like

NJD: Blackwood, Smith #5 overall
ANA: Gibson, #23 overall

Is what I was originally going for

You're definitely right about that. I'm reluctant to give up a first for a goalie. They can be amazing one year and then completely fall off the next.

There are few guys that would be good bets not to fall off in next few years. Gibson is one of them.

But best move to add a goalie may be to buy low somewhere (Grubauer, Murray, etc)

I'm one of the few but I'd rather the Jets use Helly to get Blackwood and the Devils 1st.

With all due respect, Minnesota will have Rossi up. Hartman still at c. Joel Eriksson Ek as a complete two way selke C and for 4c: jost and dewar there. Minnesota has no need for henrique and isn't in any place to take him on with their cap hell
Henrique isn't a 50 to 60 point player and hasn't been for quite sometime. He's absolutely not a Winger like you are saying

He absolutely is a Winger. He played LW in 21/22 and was on pace for 61 points.

It's not too bad in terms of value considering Henrique's season, I just think moving a PPG winger that's only 25 for a package like this is poor asset management

I mean I get and understand your point, but with respect, Lw is the one position now and future Minnesota is absolutely stacked at. Minnesota isn't trying to get older either. They love Adam Beckman also and didn't call him up so he can get a head start on his training of making team next year, so he doesn't have to be sitting around and being in *black aces* where he's not playing.

I never said Henrique fits into the Wild's system. I never commented on the trade itself and if it makes sense for Minnesota. That's a different topic.

Think a team that thinks it'll win in the next couple years will give up more for Scheiffelle. He ranks 3rd in consecutive point per game seasons after Crosby 17 Mcdavid 7 Scheiffelle 6.

Post a realistic Fiala trade ACGM with comps to justify the price.

Until then, zip it.
