Agreed. Maybe in two years time MTL can replicate the Little deal (LTIR $5.291 x 2yr) where ARI got a middle six prospect ready to play in exchange, but now Weber's contract will be tough to move. If Price ends up "LTIRetire" then they would still be deep in LTIR.

In theory yes but Weber's contract "value" come from his small actual salary. His cap hit is $8M but his actual cost is only $1M after 2023 which is ideal for ARI.

That being said, there's no way ARI would spend assets for him. They could do a Little-esque trade with MTL though.

That makes no sense. If someone gives you something worth 8$ and it cost $1 how is that the same as getting something worth $8 and spending $8? Do you understand math? lol

Weber deal to arizona is already done, wouldve happened at the deadline except there was some payment/insurance issues that took more time to work out. A 7th is hardly giving up assets and wte is sent back to MTL will basically be a formality but there will be something sent back.

what? the arizona is sending back a 7th not 3rd. And again its moot since by all reports Weber's contract is going to be moved it just required more time because of sort of the specifics.

Clauge is what he is, a 6/7 dman, Arizona isnt planning on winning anytime soon so he should fit right in. 3rd is solid return to take on Armia he is about a 1 1.5mil overpaid, its not like hes carrying an 8 mil cap hit. and again Weber contract isnt like any in the nhl because it was heavily frontloaded and was signed before the cba was ratified to stop teams from circumventing the cap in the way Nashville was able too.

Easy pass on Hoffman. Less than zero interest in Hoffman and the only reasons to move Barrie are for cap reasons and to get a better fit on the right side (which requires the cap savings).

Don't think so. There is no one else with a 8M cap hit with a 1M in real salary anywhere else. AZ will play in a college arena next year, the money income will be low. I expect AZ to pay a B prospect OR a 2nd/3rd round pick for Weber's contract

Why?? Weber's contract is almost 8M on cap, In real money it's 6M for 3 years, 2M/year and probably 0 M because insurance. The Arizona budget will be very low with a 5000 arena. They will try to get high cap players and low money remains, exactly Weber contract. I saw another Weber trade from a TML fan, Weber vs Pierre Engvall rights, That's close of a 4th round pick and it's a TML fan!! https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3230432

bro weber does not have positive value. arizona is poor but they also gotta spend money. they would rather use money on someone who will make them money through ticket sales or something.

COL has said that not parting with their 23 1st is important. Why in the world would they move it for Drouin no matter the cap hit?

Drouin to Colorado posts have been on here for ages. The answer is always no. For a 1st round pick? You must be on something good.

I did. Still bad. Unless he suddenly becomes a point per game winger and has a healthy season, you’re not getting a premium pick like a 2023 1st.

The ONLY reason for Edmonton to move their perennial 50 point RHD is for cap space. They have zero interest in Hoffman, who has the same cap hit but is half the player.

Read what I said. “No matter the cap hit”. Drouin could score 30 goals by the dead line and they aren’t parting with their 23 1st, in particular for a rental.
