a 1st isnt nothing, its more than hes worth
I really like Asplund, but he is hardly worth a first.
If the Leafs made it the final four the trade would only move the Sabres up 13 to 10 spots (presuming the Sabres won the cup) about the value of the 44th OA.
What do you think is the future of Der-Arguchintsev?
He was drafted in 2018 and has not has proven to be a solid AHL forward.
While Asplund offers many intangibles, IMO the Sabres would be crazy to reject the trade as written, having four picks in the first round would make it a very interesting first draft day.
IDK why the Leafs would make the trade, I just do not see a spot for him in their line up.
@palhal
"You're right 10 spots in 30s in kinda of nothing, just to take on Mrzarek's 3.8m contract, and especially if a young NHLer Asplund is included.
And regarding the Marlies SAM....unless teams think he going to be an NHLer, he value in an NHL trade means absolutely nothing."
So TML 2022 first and Mrazek for Asplund?
I am good with that trade.
Buffalo gets, 5 picks among the top 41 and a GK who may bounce back.
The Leafs found UFA Kampf last year, I would presume the Sabres could find someone to fill Rasmus' skates.
