Why not offersheet PLD 9mil x 5yr instead? Hes not maybe as valuable as Point BUT:
- youd be able to keep Caufield
- youd save 500k per year on the contract
- youd save a 2nd round pick
-youd save the other prospects listed
- hes french canadian

What about Wright or Cooley without giving up anything
And PLD is being a dick to other teams because he wants so bad to play for MTL that he isn’t welling to sign long terms. He is aiming to be a FA at 26 yo

The whole point of this AGM is for MTL to make a big trade so they arent a bottom 5 team in the 2023 draft and in the Bedard sweepstakes.

I could see a trade if MTL first round pick is 3rd overall. Something like MTL 2022 1st + Dvorak for Dubois. Only if Winnipeg won't pay Dubois what he wants.

MTL wouldn't give a 2022 top 2 pick, or 2023 1st since next year draft top 5 is better than anyone this year.

I don't think Winnipeg would have interest in anything else MTL have.
