This is a very good point. Just imagine he actually got time on PP1.

If you look at some past top picks, he's had a very similar first two seasons (metric based) as Huberdeau, Landeskog, Barkov, & Scheifele. Obviously these players have improved on their first two seasons and are some of the best players in the game now. I'm not saying Laffy will become these players or get to that level. Simply, saying a 20 year old is a bust simply off their first 100-120 games is foolhardy. When you consider the situation Laffy was actually thrown into (3rd line and barely and PP time) he's far from a bust. Hoping rangers can extend him really cheap ASAP (maybe this summer if that's allowed) for a max term.
