Easy pass for Detroit, Larkin is their only real top 6 C right now. Can't afford to lose him without getting another top 6 C back. Add in he's the captain and hometown kid it just ain't happening. Not yet at least

I know Wings fans will no to any Larkin trade, but they should take this one. Larkin plays in Philly for a year and then comes back to the Wings for as a UFA. Don't understand why Flyers would make this deal.

Devils should have no interest in paying for the right to give PHI cap relief for JVR. If you want to take Johnsson in the deal who had a hand full fewer points half the price and you throw in a pick for such cap relief, sure. Otherwise, you'll have to pay to send him to ARI or someone else.

Johnny Hockey isn't taking anything less than $11,000,000 x 7 years on the open market. Provorov fills a need in top 4 LD. Konecny only makes sense if Bertuzzi is dealt. Frost meh. No thanks and you need to add a 1st and 2nd round pick on top for Larkin.

It's not even a good trade for Detroit with Larkin only having a year left lol. Provorov has fallen off a cliff. Konecny is a decent top 9 W nothing more and the two prospects are basically worthless. Wings could get a better package that better fits their rebuild if they actually traded Larkin on an expiring deal

You're right. If Provorov and Konecny aren't worth their contracts......the Wings spend their 12.3 better and secure Larkin long term

I like that thinking and part of me wishes that would happen but it just doesn't in the NHL. Although I do remember a player doing that in the last couple years but he wasn't a high profile player by any means.

Provorov has Mantha like consistency. Konecny hasn't hit 20g in 2 seasons after 24 in each of his prior 3 seasons. Both Rasmussen and Zadina have higher PPGs than Frost. Fedotov is a 25yr old goalie drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 draft who has yet to sign a contract. It really looks like he has no plans to leave Russia. I fail to see how this even comes close to Larkin.
