Description
i think im gonna make a lot of people mad with this one

if MTL gets first overall, they should 100% draft shane wright.
but what if they decide to trade their pick for whatever stupid reason?

teams that i think could make an offer are in this ACGM

MTL
  1. Comtois, Maxime
  2. Drysdale, Jamie
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (ANA)
Détails additionnels:
Jamie Drysdale is a former 4th overall pick who would be amazing for the Canadiens' right side. Future defense would look lethal.

Romanov - Drysdale
Guhle - Barron
Norlinder - Player X

Maxime Comtois hasn't had a great season with the Ducks. Maybe they don't want to let go of him and see if he can bounce back, but in this ACGM, they decide to move on, and MTL takes a flyer on him.

The 2022 2nd should be an early-ish second round pick.
ANA

Détails additionnels:
2022 1st overall pick
2.
MTL
  1. Hayton, Barrett [Droits de RFA]
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (ARI)
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (NYI)
Détails additionnels:
The Coyotes' first falls at second overall in this scenario. So they most likely have to add the difference between Wright and Logan Cooley... which I see to be Barrett Hayton and an early second round pick.

Hayton hasn't been great on a struggling Coyotes team this year that's seen Travis Boyd doing better than him. Maybe the Yotes want to move on.
ARI

  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (VGK)
  3. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (BUF)
Détails additionnels:
The Sabres' first falls at 9th overall in this scenario.

As much as the Sabres don't NEED Wright, he would be great to add to their already stacked forward corps. But he'll come at a price.

In this case, the Sabres add the Vegas first (which falls at 16th overall in this scenario), and a high third round pick. A price to pay to make this forward group in the future:

Krebs - Wright - Quinn
Cozens - Thompson - Tuch
Skinner - Mittelstadt - Rosen
Asplund - Player X - Player Y

MTL
  1. Ceulemans, Corson [Liste de réserve]
  2. Chinakhov, Yegor
  3. Texier, Alexandre
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (CBJ)
  5. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (TBL)
Détails additionnels:
With this trade, the Blue Jackets end up with three (!) picks in the top 15, which should boost their prospect pool. If they take:

1st overall: Shane Wright
6th overall: David Jiricek
12th overall: Danila Yurov

That would help out an elite prospect pool.

Chinakhov is sent out, and can be replaced with Yurov in a few years. He is brought to help out MTL on LW (not a very deep position in terms of prospects).
Ceulemans is brought in to bolster MTL's RD prospect pool, which basically just has Justin Barron. Hopefully he and Barron become two good second pairing guys, and one of them can play the first pair (otherwise I believe one of Romanov or Guhle can shift to the right side). In the future, he can be replaced with Jiricek.
Texier, another left winger, is brought in as a piece that can possibly be moved in the future. He likely won't fit in the future (Heineman, Smilanic, Roy, Chinakhov on LW in no order) and would be moved out or moved to a different position. Wright could make an immediate impact with the Blue Jackets, so he's the immediate and future replacement.
CBJ

MTL
I wanted to do Roslovic instead of Texier and the third, but I doubt he's moved.

    MTL
    1. Veleno, Joseph
    2. Zadina, Filip [Droits de RFA]
    3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (DET)
    Détails additionnels:
Habs take a flyer on Zadina, and see if he busts or not. If he works out, he would help the left wing depth. Veleno is the same situation, if he works out he could help the depth. But the main purpose for acquiring him is to fill the 3C hole.
The first falls at 5th overall.
    DET
    1. Norlinder, Mattias

    MTL
    1. Faber, Brock [Liste de réserve]
    2. Turcotte, Alex
    3. Vilardi, Gabriel [Droits de RFA]
    4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (LAK)
    Détails additionnels:
Turcotte either slots in as a centre or a wing. Either works well for the Habs, as he could either be the 2C behind Suzuki or the 1LW with Suzuki and Caufield (maybe 2LW solely because that’s a small line).
Faber bolsters a shallow RD prospect pool.
Vilardi slots in immediately as either the 2C or 3C depending on how much confidence management has in Dvorak.

    8.
    MTL
    1. Daws, Nico
    2. Tatar, Tomas
    3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (NJD)
    Détails additionnels:
Tatar is added a dump. Maybe the Habs can play him with Gallagher and hope they both light a fire in each other and have Dvorak centering them.
Daws becomes the starter of the future for MTL.
The first is high, and falls at 5.

    MTL
    1. Järventie, Roby
    2. Pinto, Shane
    3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (OTT)
    Détails additionnels:
Pinto can immediately slot in at 3C, whereas Jarventie will hopefully become a future top six winger. Wright will hopefully be able to make an immediate impact with the Senators in his first year, and without Pinto, he’ll probably get 2C minutes. The first is 7OA.

Trading from an area of need (RD) to acquire a player that they don’t need (Wright) would be the epitome of utter stupidity. Adding Comtois and a high 2nd would just tip the scales into pure madness. We’ll stick at 10 or so and be quite content, thanks.

Idk, I think people are crapping on Wright (and this draft class generally) a bit much, just because people don’t think he’s the next Matthews/McDavid/Crosby/etc.

Of all the packages I’ve seen, this is the one I’d be most inclined to accept for CBJ. The main issue is that RD is an area of need for us…

What about taking Boqvist instead of Ceulemans?

People are very divided, bust people say his skating and puck handling are very average and he is going to be hard pressed in the NHL - other people think he has a very high level hocky IQ and the way he sees the ice is special and he is going to be a Bergeron + type player

Sabres accept. If you look at our team, the wings and left d especially are in good shape. A center core of Thompson, cozens, and mittelstadt/Krebs leaves something to be desired. Maybe one of them emerges as a true #1, but more likely we have 3 middle 6 centers with holes in their games. That is the hand we've been dealt and trying to find that #1 with pick 9 this year or pick, I'm gonna guess 10-15 next year isn't gonna do it. So if we are allowed to trade all of our firsts this year for Wright, I'm in.

I would definitely do the trade mentioned above as it greatly favors the Sabres.
While the Sabres are 25 pts out of the playoffs examining the season offers significant insight.
With Dell, Subban, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Houser (he was 2-0) in net they had a 8-19-6 record. or 55 pts over 82 games.
When Tokarski and Anderson were the GK's the Sabres had a 27-24-7 record prorated to 86 pts over 82 games or only 14 pts out of the playoffs..
Include the Girgenson effect (who returned to the team on March 17th) over the past 28 games they were 16-9-3 for 35 pts or 103 over 82 games (three points more than the Capitals and the same as the Penguins).
Krebs, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Samuelsson, Jokiharju will be more mature and should all have break out seasons.
Next season, add Quinn, Peterka, Laaksonen, Ruotsalainen and the team has talent and depth.
    The defense is silly young.
Oldest to youngest Laaksonen will be 23 on July 2nd, Jokiharju will be 23 on July 17, Samuelson just turned 22 on March 14 and Dahlin was 22 on April 14 and Power will be 21 on Nov 22nd.
Add a RHD, average NHL GK (neither Anderson nor Tokarski were even average with an 0.898 combined SV%) I think Buffalo could make it very interesting next year.
Can you imagine if Karmanos could convince Letang (remember there is that Pittsburgh connection) to sign with the Sabres?
IMO it is too early to be making block buster trades but I could see the Sabres trading some of their seconds or even the first round pick next TDL.
