Good Lineup, but theres part of me that thinks its creating problems down the road, with markstrom/gaudreau/tkachuk/coleman in long term deals, leaves little wiggle space for Vladar, Lindholm, Hanifan, Tanev, or Backlund/Toffoli replacement or limited ability to improve that 3rd pairing.

Theres part of me that thinks they have to bite the bullet and offer longer term for lesser cap hit, would Gaudreau take 7.75mil for 8 years maybe?

No gaudreau gets 9.5-10 on an 8 year deal. I highly doubt he signs a 6 year deal

Just a thought: Coleman, Markstrom, Gaudreau and Tkachuk eat 33mil or more for the next 4 years, and with key players like Lindholm, Hanifan expiring and without more than a few key entry level contracts (in middle 6 or on defense) its going to be tough

Hard pass from MTL, they are not taking on that contract. If they take on that contract CGY is taking Armia and giving a better pick.

Lol did you look at MTL cap space?? Also he hasn't been any better then the Cs they currently have, they have 0 need to take on over 6M in cap for him. They will he using cap somewhere else.


Can't look too far ahead about the cap situation while the team is trying to contend. By then, the team might be better off just letting those guys walk and replacing them with upcoming prospects
