Shanogan Coolight - TML and VGK trades

Description
This team should get rid of most depth players -middle 6 player in favor of their prospect.

VGK trade:

I feel like this trade will not happen, nor should it. But I can't see the VGK keeping Lehner after this last debacle. If they miss the playoff, I feel like they will double down on their vanity and get another big name...while most of their success came from overperforming underdogs.

Carey Price sells ticket - and the VGK could swap some cap to the habs in exchange. 2.5M retained should be sufficient and won't hurt the cap for the habs as CP probably has 3 season left before LTIRetiring.

TML trade.

Habs trade Lehner to either EDM or TOR - highest bidder. In this case, habs get Mrazek's horrible contract but gets the better RW. Nylander is UFA in 2 years and TOR won't be able to afford him. They get a good Powerforward with term and low cap + plus they get a great goaltender a at low cost.

The other trades are for players that will be moved, but didn't bother crafting a thoughtful trade.

I would do that Leafs trade in a heartbeat, you sure you want someone who hates the corners and back checking?

That’s a lateral trade for Vegas with a worse deal for Price.

Really likely!!

It is greatly in TML's favor. I expect resistance from the habs side. Anyway, Mrazek will help the tank in 2023 for the habs...so we see it as positive value smile

Can't be worse than 11M for Pyjama boy.

5.5M is not bad for what he brings (something lacking in TOR).

Sorry, "any team" doesn't want Montreal's cap dumps. Mrzarek is just 1m X 4 years buyout. Much better than taking on the middling 5.5m Anderson for six years.
You have be joking about teams giving up a first for Dvorak.

Regardless how you spin it, Price to Vegas wont ever make sense.
VGK already have an iffy goalie at 5mil x 3yrs, why trade him for another iffy G who costs 3mil more at 8mil x 4yr?

Sure, Lehner was injured but Price has had his demons as well (injury and mental/addiction). Prices play at 35 wont improve and Lehner at 31 is more likely to return to form and costs 3mil less

Having an overpaid player doesn't mean we should add another, that makes no sense. Anderson isn't worth 5.5 now, his games only gonna get worse with age and he has 5 more years left.

So Vegas has to pay $8,000,000 x 4 years for an injury prone Carey Price. Bad enough of the Lehner injuries. No way in hell does Vegas take on that monstrosity of a contract.

yeah, leafs dont want anderson's contract. he's a worse scorer, passer and defensively than nylander, older and not even significantly cheaper and they trade one injured goalie for a more expensive one with a bigger longer contract.
not even close for toronto

Tavares' worst season is miles better than Anderson's best. 5.5 million is a hilarious amount for a 40 point guy who spends more time on his butt because he has the balance of someone with an inner ear problem

I think this is a no brainer for the Leafs to decline. Others have posted some solid reasoning, Nylanders play is much better than Andersons, yes Anderson plays a gritty game, but you can find that elsewhere for cheaper and wont have to give up Nylander to get it. Mrazek of course isnt a great contract, but neither is Lehner, hes had injury problems in the past and likely isnt a risk Toronto would be willing to take, especially at that length and term. Toronto will however take 1 3rd round pick for free

That Anderson contract is horrible. He’s very skilled and gritty, yes, but he’s only visible about once or twice every 20 games. If he could be more consistent he would be a great player, but for now he is extremely inconsistent player who plays a style that ages terribly. He would literally be David Clarkson 2.0. I wouldn’t take his contract unless you paid me to
