Description

Arizona trade:
Mailloux is a top prosect and would have been drafted much higher if it wasn't for his scandal. New management clears their hands from that. Arizona get a great player. They also get 2 late first round picks, solid d prospect in Norlinder, Mid prospect with potential in Poehling. They get a very good contract in Webber (very high cap hit. Very low actual dollars owed to him). Armia and Byron are both cap dumps. Armia can still live up to his contract. Byron is a very hard worker and will help their locker room.

Montreal dump cap and get a legit top 4 dman on a great contract.

Dallas Trade:
It was reported they were after Petry. Petry wants out of Canada. This is a reasonable offer in my mind. I think Montreal fans want Dellandrea though.

Letang signs with his home town team. Montreal get 1st overall pick and take Wright.

This would be fun. Solid team!

There isn’t enough value for Arizona to take on 2 cap dumps AND give up Chychrun in the same trade. Arizona was asking for an Eichel like return for them to consider moving Chychrun. Mailloux, Norlinder, and the 2 late first rounders might be enough, but I still think the Yotes keep Chychrun. Armia and Byron are cap dumps, and I don’t think Arizona would take them for Poehling and the Weber contract. As for the Dallas trade, I highly doubt Dallas considers. Bishop is retired, and will just stay on LTIR for the remainder of his contract. Hakanpaa has played really well for Dallas, and is really cheap to boot, compared to Petry, who doesn’t have enough retention to make any team consider based on the risk factor alone with term and an expensive contract for a player who is old and declining.
