If Alviin wants to win I guess.

Get rid of myers and poolman at anycost. I really like that 4th line NGL, speed line.

Not sure on price for dumba, just went off other Dumba trades i saw.

Doubt anyone will give you assets for Dickinson. Thats a cap dump contract after the last couple of seasons he's had.

You really think there is a team out there trading a 2nd for Myers and that contract of his?

If Risto got the 14th pick, that increases Dumba's value as well. If we are trading him, we can't afford to retain at all, plus the pick needs to be earlier than 2024, preferably this year.

No, no it isn't. Dickinson may have had a disappointing season this year, but he's still got bounce back potential. Canucks will just keep him if nobody will pay them assets for him

You gave way too much money to Cogliano and Rathbone can't ask for more than league minimum on his next deal

Yeah but when philly traded for risto they werent on the hook for 6m for 3 more years if he didnt pan out. Myers is a cap dump.

I don't see how just because Myers has an additional year of term left compared to Risto that makes Risto no longer a cap dump

The isles are already uptight against the cap and have enough RHD. If Myers were to be moved there would have to be money coming back the other way

Hopefully Guerin can exploit some Fletcher esq GM. Not sure what Allvin is that guy yet, but maybe Jim Rutherford talks him into it.

I don't hate this deal but as mentioned Dumba should return similar to Risto and i don't think Wild can afford to retain.

Agreed. His whole contract needs to be moved. We realistically shouldn't be retaining salary on any trade made in the next 3 years. We have more than enough dead cap space as it is.

Additional year? When risto got traded he was a rental at 2.7m. Myers on the other hand would have 3 years left at 6m. Its very different to commit under 3m to a guy than 6m. Garland is at 5m basically. Now if garland gets traded this offseason can i go and take a player that wpuld be similar to garland, give him 10m a year with term and say he has the same trade value? Its crazy what youre trying to do here.

Risto was 26 and had 5 straight seasons of averaging about 0.5/PPG before a bad 2020-21 season. He had 1 year left at $5.4M when he was traded.

Tyler Myers is 32, has 3x$6M left, and hasn't been that prolific of a scoring threat in the last decade. He's older, more expensive, less productive, and you're stuck with him for longer. Risto is not an appropriate comparison for trade value - Nate Schmidt is more like it. Schmidt's a guy whose peak was around 30-35 points, who was 29, and was signed for 4x$5.95M. The Jets gave up a 3rd rounder last summer, which is probably about the best you can hope for in a Myers trade.

Yeah my bad i knew there was a cap thing. They sent back hagg instead.
That being said part of the value of risto was the theory that he was struggling bc he was on a buffalo team devoid of any talent. The same cannot be said for tyler myers who hasnt been good since he won the calder (with the buffalo sabres ironically enough)

Myers was okay when he went to Winnipeg, and he was okay in his first couple of seasons with Vancouver, but this season, he's been legitimately good, not 6M good, but closer to 4M good, and the Sabres teams of the past half a decade have NOT been devoid of talent, or maybe you don't consider Eichel true talent, plus O'Reilly was "losing his love" for the game of hockey when he was over there

Last season risto had dahlin reinhart less than half a season of eichel and a version of taylor hall that i was better than. The year before that it was no hall and a full season of eichel. The team was constantly hemmed in and had goaltending that could never make a save when they needed it. There was also a time a few years ago when risto was legitimately good.

ah sorry that i used his contract status *today* instead of where he'll be on July 1st.

guessing since all you had to come back with is semantics, that you don't have any real argument back against what i was saying and agree that tyler myers is most definitely not wroth a 2nd. have a great day!

he's only overpaid by $2M, I can't imagine why a team wouldn't be frothing at the mouth to give up a 2nd rounder for him
