I’d do the OTT trade if it got us Jiricek.. would have to happen on the draft floor as soon as the Sens went on the clock and Jiricek was still available

Not overly interested in Debrusk, but if this got Barron played at C where he belongs, then sure

If we’re adding a 2nd to Vesalainen, then try for Rosen…Portillo wasn’t a 2nd round pick on his own at his draft.

Are you suggesting adding a second to vesalainen for Rosen, the guy that we took 14th overall 10 months ago?

I meant if we are adding to Vesalainen, (who was a 24th OA in his draft in 2017 and hasn’t really had a good shot yet), we should check the cost of Rosen… Portillo was a 3rd round pick… Vesa and a 2nd is an overpay for him.

Ya, that's not a base in the eyes of Boston management.

Can’t go by draft stock, otherwise I’d offer a 7th for Levi. Portillo is a really good goalie prospect who looks like he doesn’t want to sign in Buffalo. He is absolutely worth a 2nd and could be our goalie after Helly (I’m not so sure Helly wants to stay in Winnipeg).

2nd and Vesa is a fair offer

In regards to moving DeBrusk or using Gus as a base?

I think with goalie prospects being such crazy wild cards, a 2nd plus is probably too much. If he doesn't wanna come to buffalo to fight for time with Levi and upl, AND he's willing to go to Winnipeg, its a pretty generous offer. However, a 2nd plus vesalainen doesn't get a return call for Rosen. Maybe if it was a different gm, but this gm just picked Rosen less than a year ago, nobody does that.

Gus. If they move DeBrusk they now have to fill the 1RW spot.

I'm all for trading up if Jiricek can be had but if it costs Lucius to do it then Ottawa needs to be sending something decent back to the Jets.

Also think Buffalo should be sending a little something with Portillo, maybe a 4th/5th or something, nothing too major but should be an even asset swap imo.

Don't see LA doing that but would be great to get Grans, really wanted Chevy to trade up to draft him.

I'm going to guess that Debrusk will end up staying in Boston now, not so sure we should be trading Gus just yet either, still pretty thin at center and who knows if Perfetti ends up being a center at the NHL level.

Agree with the Rosen statement. Portillo is an intriguing prospect. AHL ready and probably just a few years from a starting role. That doesn’t come by very often and I think a late 2nd and underachieving prospect (in peg anyways) is worth the risk. The chances of that 2nd turning into anything in the next few years is less than Portillo actually becoming a good starter

I’d like to see the jets pick up a goalie like Portillo. He’d likely be the backup though because that would likely be the best way to get him to sign. Jets need to figure out what they’re doing in net because hellebuyck may only be here for a couple more years.

I’d do that sens deal if Jiricek is available. Ideally maybe they’d take a player like Chibrikov instead of Lucius, but if it has to be him then it’s okay.

No chance LA does that. They’d probably want to keep grans. Just try to get 2 2nds back for him if possible.

I threw Grans in there really only because they are absolutely stacked at RD and need a LHD who can play now. Really, I’d be ok with any return of some value.

I think we could re-sign Alex Edler for less than Brenden Dillon's cap hit, and we would probably get the same results without having to expend assets to acquire Dillon.

Gus as the base. He’s nothing.

If you’re making an offer to boston for debrusk, there is only one requirement - the offer makes the boston bruins better. If it doesn’t, no deal. Obviously, this makes them way worse no matter what else you toss in, which value wise would probably have to be a first.

Really hard to say if Ottawa would be interested in that or not... Depends on their reports on Lucius and Jiricek (or another guy that would still be available) I guess
