Personally would have a tough time seeing that from the Devils end becuase you likely have at least 1 of jiricek or name on the board and if not, its Cooley or slafkovsky. So I'd be kinda surprised if they moved 5th. Indeed, I'd expect them to move it for Fiala (or another wiemecnger) rather than Sergachev anyway.

Though, I think there's a trade between Tampa and the Devils that could make sense for Serg, I don't think it's this.

i tend to think they keep sergachev and try to take about 2 more runs at the cup before trying to snag a high pick.

Is it Sergachev and Tampa Bay's 1st for New Jersey's 1st?
Or just NJD pick for Serg?

Sergachev isn't getting anywhere near those kind of returns, Heck Detroit made mince meat out of him the other night.

i wouldnt doubt he is signed long term this offseason as they usually do a year before they reach free agency.

yes cause a 23 year old dman putting up about .50 PPG with a QO of 5m next year and still has a year left is worth nothing cause he has a few bad games like every other dman in the league..

3rd overall, 5th overall 7th overall in a deep draft. Sorry he's not returning anywhere near those kind of picks. His career .50 is the same as Hronek in Detroit and you're talking possibly a mid-teen pick for him.

His fancies are...pretty bad this year. Like his RAPM and WAR. 5th TBL dman in WAR.

39th percentile in the WAR/xWAR player cards from EH.

Can reasonably be argued the points are a function of the team around him.

              Why? Just curious.

FWIW I like both their games.

Tampa isnt looking to move him. Brisebois would have to get an amazing offer to seriously consider it. 5th overall or 7th+Brannstrom would be the best of these. Tampa likely isn't interested in moving their pick either, and this draft class isn't that deep anyway. I guess if Tampa could move up to either get Slafkovsky or one of the dmen(Nemec, Jiricek or Korchinski would be my top preferences), then maybe.
IN all likelihood Tampa keeps the sure thing they have with Serg and just locks him up this Summer with a new deal.

              Why? Just curious.

FWIW I like both their games.

Due to Arizona's position in both the standings and salary cap, they have no need to try to immediately improve their team or cut salary. Because of that, they're going to be looking for a significant overpayment what is arguably their last and best trade asset.

Tampa, on the other hand, is going to need to do some maneuvering to make their cap situation work. They're not going to sell low, but they're not necessarily looking to fleece a team either. They need help as much as LA does to get cap compliant while remaining competitive. I think they'd let Sergachev go for a reasonably priced return, assuming LA sends back assets that makes sense for them.

Sergachev has intangibles, including 2 Stanley Cup wins while playing big minutes on a top quality team. Chychrun has played in exactly 5 playoff games in his career.

              Fair enough.

yes cause a 23 year old dman putting up about .50 PPG with a QO of 5m next year and still has a year left is worth nothing cause he has a few bad games like every other dman in the league..

              Okay, under the new rule

For players who are on expiring contracts that were signed after July 10, 2020:
The Qualifying Offer is limited to 120% of their previous contracts annual average (AAV)
Reference: 2020 NHL CBA extension Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

              It's $5,760,000 ($4.8MM x 120%)

Less than the $7.2MM, more than a little over $5MM.
