I could easily seriously undervalue Manson, but JESUS. if Cheveldayoff signed that I'd cry for Jets Fans. The guy is size, your right, but do you ever think Anahiem didn't sign him for a reason? He is worth 3 x 4 years at most. Look at his +/- too to backup my statement

I am lost on what you are trying to prove with this statement. Josh Manson over his career is a plus player. Pretty good for a top d man who plays top minutes and penalty kill on a below average team.

Hahaha. Why wouldn't they? Harkins alone could fetch Levi and a 3rd. I just threw Berdin in so that Winnipeg didn't have too many goalies.

Either way, Manson is not worth 5.5x4, thats rediculous. I mean he would sign it in a heartbeat because that's an amazing deal for him. But people need to be realistic over his value. Manson probably resigns in colorado anyway.

Why? Would Josh Manson sign with Winnipeg when all Canadian teams were on his no trade list, It was mentioned that he doesn't want to play in Canada. So he's not going to sign to play there.

You're clearly missing something. Let me offer you Girgensons for Hellebuyck and the trades are the same

I guess the thinking is that with Ukka already under contract you have 2 other high end college guys in Levi and Portillo. There's no way that both college guys decide to sign with you when they could just bid their time and sign where there isn't a goalie of the future to contend with and unseat.

Maybe this particular trade doesn't make sense, but if I were the Jets I'd be asking about who was available to be our goalie of the future. I would have started with Portillo as you just traded for Levi and Ukka is already under contract but Levi's numbers are eye popping even though he is a smaller tender.

Not really as those are established NHL players in your example, not prospects, and especially not prospects that have recently decided against signing a pro contract and gone back to school instead. Technically you have until the summer of 2024 to sign them so it isn't a huge rush, but there is additional risk in dealing with college players that they could just wait it out and sign where they feel they have the easiest route to the NHL.

He has been a 4th liner most games but I personally think there is more there, he just isn't being given the opportunities because he was a second round pick instead of a 1st rounder.

It actually would make me sad to move him because I love his speed and hustle. It's a young NHL player with upside for a prospect goalie that is putting up some great numbers right now.

If you don't like Harkins that is fine. Like I said, I'd be sniffing around the Sabres for whichever guy you'd consider moving as a potentially Helle replacement in a few years but wouldn't be willing to pay premium assets for any of them at the moment. I'm just curious what the cost would be. Clearly not Harkins, but what would get you to a "yes" (if anything short of a massive overpay) for:

1) Levi
2) Portillo
3) Ukka

Are you sure you have the right player? He’s been a second pairing guy for a while. He hasn’t averaged over 22 minutes per game since 2018-2019. +/- is not a good stat, but his advanced metrics show a 29 year old second pairing PK specialist. That type of player certainly has value in the league, but $5.5M is a hefty bag.

Levi was the main piece in the Reinhart trade, Buffalo is not going to trade him for a 24 year old fourth liner, even if he has some upside to his game. The fact you added a third in there going to Winnipeg really baffles me. Buffalo would counter with Bjork for Perfetti and a third.

Yeah, not even factoring in that he was the best goaltender in College this year, that logic doesnt equal dump him for a common 4th liner that every team has 10 copies of already. Harkins would be immediately waived by Buffalo, they have better options already.
