Why should the Canucks give you 2 top 6 players, one of them put captain, plus our first round pick this year which is a top 15 pick. You would have to hold Allvin’s family hostage for him to accept that

Yes he’s an amazing player but I see 0 upside in trading 2 top 6 players for 1 top 6 player while we throw in our top 15 pick when our prospect pool is as dry as a desert

As I just explained to the person above, while Pastrnak is obviously the best piece in this trade, there is 0 reason why the Canucks would trade 2 top 6 players for 1 top six player. Management has also said they aren’t trading high picks because we literally have one of the worst prospect pools in the league. This trade leaves a hole in 2C and our draft.

Obviously Pastrnak is the best player in the trade, but he’s also a UFA after next season, and the Canucks are giving up way too much value for a potential rental. Even if he signed an extension it doesn’t make sense for the Canucks at all
