As long as Bergeron and Marchand are still at an elite level, the Bruins are trying to win the cup. If Bergeron re-signs, the Bruins need to continue to try and contend for a Stanley Cup while they can.

Signings:

Patrice Bergeron: Signs team-friendly contract.

Vlad Namestnikov: Depth forward who can play throughout the lineup.


Trades:

Mike Reilly: Getting rid of the cap hit. Doesn't need to Buffalo, just any team wanting to add a decent enough defenceman for basically nothing.

Jake DeBrusk: It's the worst kept secret in hockey that DeBrusk wants out of Boston. Unfortunately, I don't see the Bruins getting full value for DeBrusk (whatever that even looks like). Lind gives Boston a potential bottom six forward and the Kraken can afford to give up a third round pick for a player who can help in their top six.
