Tbh, if I'm Dallas my sole focus is building around the youth on my roster. The Stars are already one of the oldest teams in the league & need to focus on getting younger. With how well they've drafted lately, I'd rather keep a young winger like Gurianov and my 1st Round Pick.

If Pavelski wasn't already signed for next year, I'd be more open to the idea of adding someone like Wheeler. Another thing that works against Wheeler here is that his $8.25M contract has 2 more years on it, which conflicts with Roope Hintz's upcoming contract extension next offseason. With the minimal cap increase over the next few years, it's going to be tight signing Hintz even without an additional $8.25M contract on the books

The Rangers won't give up two premier RHD prospects + one grade-A wing prospect + middle six winger + three top 2 round picks for an aging top 6 center with anger issues who has historically been a toxic locker room presence.

No chance the Jets retain on Scheifele or move him for one player that fills a need, one late first and a whole bunch of nothing.

The Jets aren't retaining that much on Wheeler and getting nothing in return.

For the Philly deal, theJets aren't giving up the 3 best players in the deal while taking back a cap dump.

The only "Premier/Grade A" prospect in this deal is Schneider. This type of deal wouldn't get it done for either side in my opinion, too much quantity not enough quality. Lets not pretend a PPG, #1 centre on a team friendly deal for 2.5 more years won't return a substantial amount though. Also, please give me one example of "anger issue" lol. He made one hard hit on a player who should have had his head up and everyone thinks he's a goon, it doesn't make sense

The likelyhood of the rangers including schneider for scheifele is the same as wpg including PLD in a deal for schneider. It's gonna be a loooooonnng offseason of this swap being posted.

Rangers decline and Winnipeg declines the Philly and Dallas trades.

Rangers already have a better 1C than Scheif named Mika and Copp or Strome will fill 2C next year, so ZERO need for the Rangers to give up anything for Schief. Jets should keep him because he is so awesome.
