What’s wrong with this life?

Leafs are 8-1-1 since the trade deadline. They’re 5 points away from the team record for points and 2 wins away from the franchise record for most wins in a season.
And we still have 10 games left.

More than fair value for the Sabres for Holl and Engvall, it's finding a team that wants Mrzarek at 3.8m x 2. I don't think he can be traded.
It would be nice to get cap space for Nylander. But even if the Kase for Wood trade is even, I can't see Jersey or any non playoff team giving up a first and more for two years of Nylander

They are fine rn.

PP Great
PK excellent

Got depth everywhere now. Only question mark is goaltending rn. But if Campbell continues playing like he has and Mrazek comes back and continues playing well that problem is gone

Only thing they need to figure out going forward imo is what their goaltending situation is going to look like and how Liljegren factors into the lineup. IMO Campbell is the starter but they need a much better backup who could handle 30+ games. Liljegren deserves a starting lineup spot, but who do they then put as 7th D?

Agreed, goaltending will be a big issue to solve this offseason. Hopefully Campbell comes back and provides a long playoff run to make that decision easier.

As for the D, some combination of Rielly, Brodie, Muzzin, Liljegren, Sandin, Lyubushkin, and Giordano.

It’s possible both Holl and Kerfoot are moved with Mrazek being bought out.

Just a guess

If that 23 1st is top 10 protected, I'd want Devils to take that.

Uhm I don't really know about Tavares and Marchment but Wood is one of the faster players in the league.

Marchment isn't worth that. His highest goals before this season was 22 back in provincial jr. A.

@MatthewsFan Thanks for reminding me why Buffalo will most likely lose tonight.
Buffalo just came off one of the three worse played games this season and the Leafs are on a roll.
LOL

It will be fun to watch tonight's game.
I sometimes think most Sabre ACGM's who post just regurgitate what other Sabre fans just posted.
Mrázek is a disaster, but Holl would be the Sabres best RHD and every time Engvall was on the ice he created scoring chances.
To add a very good RHD and PK LW for taking on a cap dump and a third would be a steal as you correctly assessed.

Just a comment on the Leafs/Buffalo games tonight. When the Sabres (and the Sens and Habs) play the Leafs,,,,,it's like these three non playoff teams are playing in game 7 of the Cup final. Usually entertaining games, and where the teams are in the standings.....meaningless.

Great observation.
I am one of the strange Sabre fan who actually want the Leaf's to do well, just not against the Sabres.
Yes, I actually watch the players on the other team, that I why I would love to make trade above.
As I have said many times Holl plays well, I do not understand why there is so much hate from Leaf fans.
Engvall must be inconsistent because he terrifies me when he is on the ice.

Always enjoy your thoughtful posts. Yea, I don't understand the distain for Holl. Plays 20 a minutes a night, hard minutes, PK and against top lines for a very good team. Great value at 2m. I've always thought Engvall had talent but he has been inconsistent in previous years, I guess that is the definition of 3rd/4th liner. But this year, he's playing with great confidence. Good for him. Nice that a 7th rounder has taken kinda of long road to be a NHL regular.

As usual you were correct about the game.
There an interesting graphic displayed during the game about the record of the top four teams in the Atlantic.
The Leaf's have the best record v Playoff teams while Tampa is only 50-50.
BTW Engvall did not score but he still scared the heck out of me.
This was the first time I noticed how tall he is.
I think he will be getting better, big players take longer to develop.
