If you want to put Rocket ahead of him I will not fight that. Bealiveau and Lidstrom would make for a great debate. Anyone else is a solid no. I already saw Messier, Yzerman, Sakic, Jagr, and Paul Coffey. It is hard to compare a defenseman to a forward so that is a separate conversation but as far as other forwards go, Sid simply dominates the game better than those other guys did. I know what Jagr could do because I saw it all. He was a physical force that only a handful of other guys could compete with (Mario, Forsberg, and Lindros). Ovi has come along now and played a similar game from the wing at a slightly higher rate. What makes Sid different is he is not a great goal scorer... but he still has over 500! He is one of the best playmakers I have ever seen, right behind Wayne and Mario. Yzerman, Sakic, and Messier did not have the playmaking skills to match what Sid can go and certainly not what Wayne and Mario did. Sid also has learned how to be a 5 on 5 defensive forward. He matches up against the best of the best and more often than not he comes out on top, whether he gets a takeaway himself or forces one that does not show up on a stat sheet. He has improved in the faceoff circle to become one of the better guys in the league. The weakest aspect of his game (goal scoring) is still amazing because he is in the 500 club. He still is playing at an elite level. There are probably 4 or 5 centers right now that are better and that is it. It is am amazing career and it is not slowing down.

FLA was screwed after the Ekblad injury, they had no chance.

The flaws in their game are how much open ice they leave, how they're constantly down by multiple goals early, and how their goaltending is shaky at times. You can't win a Stanley Cup while repeating those mistakes in the playoffs.

Best one I've ever heard (though I'm not sure if it's Florida) is a guy who hot-wired a car in a parking lot, got in and drove off without anybody noticing a thing. 2 minutes away from the lot there was a drive-through joint, where he pulled in line and drove up.

it was like weegar and nobody else out there last year with shaky tending. thats why they got chiarot this year. i still dont know that ekblad will be the same this year as he hasnt come back yet. i actually think tampa could be a 1 and done this year.

If you'd said that a month ago, I would've exploded. But the way they're playing now (1-9-1 in their last 11 games against playoff teams), it's concerning. They slumped down the stretch last year too though and then were a different beast in the playoffs, but still, would be nice if they get a little more of a run going before then.

shortened season. if that was a full 82 i dont think youre looking at a cup winner. they were also slumping in 2020 before the covid break. covid was the only reason they won the cup in 2020 and you cant change my mind otherwise. we dont need to get into it further... just dont see tampa being the team to win it this year, mcdonough injury is huge. seems 5v5 scoring has waned recently and its almost all pp scoring.

I'm worried the sabres are going to win 5 of there last 7... They play philly2x, Chicago, NJ, NYI, STL and BOS. I bet we beat 1/2 of NYI, STL, and BOS and the rest we win. Just hope we don't just SJS, ANA, and DET. Stay in 25th.
