that signing was one of the WEIRDEST out of nowhere moves. it was like wait really? i like gallagher, wanted him as a bruin for quite some time thought he would pair nicely with marchand as pests. but 6 year nmc after an injury filled year and a pretty bad playoff? wasnt exactly a value deal there.

Yeah, considering how he's done previously, this season looks a lot like an outlier but if he continues to not produce, that's a deal that will blow up a lot in your face

He has to play 3 more years of college to become an unrestricted free agent. It’s so far away, you only have to start stressing after year 3. Playing a 2nd year in college makes a lot of sense

Bergevin always had trouble to let go of his players, especially those he signed to bargain deals in the first place; Gallagher, Armia, Byron, Petry. He felt like he owed them something after stealing their prime years on good value contracts lol. He was signed before the Finals run though, and tbh he wasn't coming off bad playoffs, he was just used on the shutdown line with Danault against elite lines so it didn't show on the scoreboards.
