It’s a bit much to give up but I feel NYR needs a proven 1C.

Bruins decline. Too much for Stastny and he isn't significantly better than Haula.

Why is every trade you make with the Rangers them usually making a bad deal?

The Stastny deal would have been alright except that the Jets wouldn't have wanted to take back dead cap for next year.

There's is no chance the Jets would have retained on Scheifele and moved him for such a lowball offer. It would have started with Schneider, the Rangers 23 first and probably a bit more with no retention on Scheifele.

I feel if NYR wants to get a big name player they have to part ways with one of their prized prospects.

We have quite a few big name players to go with young guys. Now we need it to start coming together come playoff time. Another superstar isn’t always the answer or solution. Sometimes patience is, something you clearly don’t seem to understand.

I have been patient with most of NYR’s prospects. But I have seen enough with 13, it’s his second season and he still doesn’t look like he belongs in the NHL. Either he doesn’t have the talent to play or whatever the Rangers have been teaching him doesn’t suit him.

I’ll take what the head coach has to say over someone online. If Gallant is happy with his performance and he has improved which he has, I’m happy. Not everyone is McDavid or Matthews. I’m shocked you’d be willing to give up on him so soon.

While he comments that laffy is bad but is insisting on having him included in a god awful trade for the rangers

Do you have citations of Gallant praising the kid or saying he’s satisfied? If he were playing well he wouldn’t have been dropped from the top line. It feels to me that the coach is pressured to play the kid from ownership, if it were up to him, 13 wouldn’t be a top 12 forward cuz he’s not ready.

Literally google lafreniere and read the articles, I don’t work for you. They shifted because he is better defensively on the left side. Better ALL around player on the left. Not everything is goals and assists.

Yeah I don’t see how he’s a better all round player since moving down the lineup. I just feel like he’s struggling to get the basics down. He always takes a touch too late which kills his teams’ chance of exiting the zone and getting set up offensively. When they do start a cycle, he is tentative about picking a path to go to support his teammates. When he puts himself in an open spot to receive a pass, he’s not in the right posture to handle it. Just feels like whatever line he’s on, they can’t make a successful gain control of the offensive zone or get set up, it always ends up back in their end.
