I would take the guaranteed Shane Wright over the unknown next year. Wright is better than everyone next year except Bedard and Michkov, and the chances we win the lotto next year to get a top 2 pick are only like 35-40% if were a bottom 2 team in the league, which I don't think we are

I think it makes sense for Chicago because of how few high quality prospects we have. With this move we can potentially add two high prospects (12th this year, own pick next year) at this stage we don’t need Wright, who will come in almost immediately and probably make a positive impact. Sure, Wright is a good prospect and all, but we need to be projecting players for later, not sooner.
