Neither pulj or Yamamoto is gonna sign for 6 years. Seems like they both have more to show, so I doubt they'd resign for that long without showing it first and maxing out their AAV.

Canadiens aren't trading Price for that little. He doesn't leave the organization without a solid player, a solid prospect, and a couple first rounders coming back. Regardless of his reputation which overinflates his value, he is the face of that franchise and they clearly aren't ready to pass the torch from Price to Monty or Primeau.

It drives me nuts that people think he is a cap dump now. He went superhuman in the playoffs last year, ran into an injury problem and then, from what I read online, losing in the cup final and finding out about Weber, and then the issues with his family surrounding his substance abuse with what was suspected to be painkiller type opioids and the subsequent fallout from that and then setbacks during rehab, he is still one of the best goalies on the planet. The same people who think Price is a cap dump and not worth it anymore are the same people who said Chiarot would not fetch a first, Lehkonen wouldn't fetch a first, Kulak wouldn't fetch a 4th, etc. IF Price is traded this summer he will fetch a decent return. Maybe not an overpay but definitely a decent pay.

Doubtful, there are very few teams in the market for a goalie and the ones that are either have no cap space like Edmonton or are rebuilding and Price likely wouldn't waive. Also even if Price is full value on ice which he's not, the injury and personal issues are a huge risk. Who's taking that on full value.

How can you possibly make the statement that Price is the best goalie in the planet? We haven't seen him play at all, he's barely even practicing. If anything, his NMC will be a factor, and I doubt he's in a position to relocate his entire family with all the issues you mentioned going on.
